10 Dead After Shooting at Oregon Community College

Just heartbroken about the latest gun bloodbath, this time at a community college in Oregon. Mother Jones is reporting that the Oregon sheriff handling the massacre fought the White House on gun control after Newtown, which some are calling karma. I don't believe in karma, but I do believe in gun laws. People want to say now's not the time to politicize a tragedy, but it's gotten to the point where there's never a time we're not in the aftermath of a tragedy. When will there be a national uprising against this senseless violence?

Condolences to everyone affected.

So Illogical That I Won't Even Sign My Name said...

I know this comment will never see the light of day, but, this school was a gun free zone, so there was no one there to stop this guy before he killed more than a dozen people.

Yes, and that is why actual GUN CONTROL is needed, not just signs that say "no guns". And before someone says something "not smart", if something small in the way of gun control occurs in the wake of this and shootings continue to happen it doesn't mean gun control doesn't work; it means we need more of it and we need it for awhile before gauging how it works, because it will take awhile to undo the mess we're in.

I read your comment again and had to reply again. You are saying because a sign that said "no guns" didn't work that nothing else could possible work so why bother trying anything else? A sign? Really?? Is that the best you think we can do? Or is that just the best you want us to think we can do so we wind up doing nothing and no one does anything to your precious guns? Wow, I feel like Julie Sugarbaker tonight!
