I get what these (bravely anonymous!) activists were trying to do here, but I'm not sure VANDALISM THAT LOOKS LIKE BLACKFACE is the best way to make a point. The LGBT community has a rich history of infighting, but with so much progress in recent years, I sure wish we could stop attacking one another and remember who the real enemy is.
Strange that they forgot to also color these actual activists. Too cheap to buy a Magic Marker, perhaps?
Ironically, the statues seem far more misrepresentative of Stonewall than the actual film, give or take a brick. P.S. I stopped by yesterday and the statues have been cleaned up.
