A Little Bit More About the (Elusive) Second Mrs. Robert Durst

This New York Times article on the elusive second Mrs. Durst certainly left me wanting more (she declined to be interviewed for it). Luckily, a friend in library mode did come up with this after reading the piece:

So much good stuff in there. She acted like she couldn't possibly recall how long they had been married, when it was just a year before all the Galveston mess went down?! But that did mean the power of attorney stuff was relatively recent, which explains why she was so concerned that it might be called into question if his defense was that he'd been nuts for the past year. I didn't have luck with LexisNexis on finding that 80s "Money Dearest" article mentioned (in my defense, I already had journals & articles databases via NYU open in another tab, ha); the only hits were the NYT piece or syndication of same. Pretty curious about it, since apparently it profiled her as being a pushy, avaricious minx or something. She'd also not spoken to her son for almost his entire childhood and adolescence -- I wonder why she lost custody, especially since it was almost always the mother by default in those days, I'd thought -- but apparently they run a real estate firm together now (using $20 MILL of Durst's money!). Mom made up for lost time and then some. I googled out of curiosity;
her son is one of those guys who seems pretty good-looking in a photo, but the longer you stare at it, the less attractive he turns out to be, ha.

Oh, and I noticed she's been shacking up with that other guy since 2010. Isn't that when Jarecki's "biopic" film came out? Maybe she got annoyed that the scrutiny was going to start all over again. Or maybe she was just annoyed that Durst didn't look enough like Ryan Gosling for her, after all....

Lastly, she and [Caroline] Wozniacki are neighbors in Union Square.
