I'm not proud of it, but a colleague of mine launched into this -- after another worked "Takin' It to the Streets" into the conversation when she saw I was editing a story about antigovernment protests in Venezuela (talk about an apostrophe fetish!) -- and we had to admit that Michael McDonald is a guilty pleasure for all of us. ("On My Own" with Patti is da bomb, as is "Long Train Running"!) What's YOUR guiltiest pleasure?

My guiltiest Michael McDonald pleasure is "Sweet Freedom" from the Billy Crystal/Gregory Hines cinematic masterpiece, "Running Scared."
His You Belong to Me gets me wet in all the right places.
"I can Let Go Now" was always my favorite and then they used it for the China Beach finale...Crushed me. I cry every time I hear it now.
