Mix Feelings

Went to a fun book event at Record Runner yesterday for "Mad World: An Oral History of the New Wave Artists and Songs That Defined the 1980s," Lori Majewski and Jonathan Bernstein's must-read autopsy of soundtrack of my youth. (More on the book TK.) (It turns out Bernstein wrote Debbie Harry's "Strike Me Pink"!) Ended up having a few beers with some friends afterward at the Slaughtered Lamb, where the subject of mixtapes and what they meant to us came up. (How better to show someone you loved them than with a mixtape?) Although the actual cassette version of the lauded format will never return, these mixtape business cards I read about over the weekend might just be the next best thing! Order HERE.
