Trip to Washington has been wonderful so far. Met some great people at the LGBT Media Journalists Convening event -- including guest speaker Andrea Mitchell Friday night at AFL-CIO headquarters. We got the full Secret Service treatment at our hotel when we arrived earlier in the day because it turned out the DNC was meeting there -- and some Kenyan socialist stopped by to address them. Now it's Sunday morning and I am getting psyched up for my first book signing. The local press has been incredibly generous -- Metro Weekly, The Washington Post and The Washington Blade (above) each featured the event in some fashion -- yet I am still terrified no one will show up. (This apparently happens to everyone who isn't David Sedaris or Chelsea Handler.) Feel free to prove me wrong at 3 p.m. at Number Nine in Logan Circle!

Kenneth, you ARE those people. You'll have a lovely turn-out because people read you daily but never get to see/hear/meet you! Plus, all those LGBT journo types are around. The odds are ever in your favor.
