Michael and I had a nice time last night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Sixth Annual Post-Pride Party, where mayoral candidate Christine Quinn and Tony-award-winning playwright and screenwriter Tony Kushner made opening remarks for the glam soiree on the main floor of the world's most spelendid museum. While there, guests were invited to check out the museum's "PUNK: From Chaos to Courture" exhibit upstairs, on display through Aug. 14. (Can you believe I hadn't already gone?) It's fun, but seemed a little too heavy on the couture and a little light on the chaos. (It's probably a safe bet that all the "real" punk clothes were shredded beyond salvation by now!)
Saw a few readers and saw a few familiar faces -- including David, Matt and Jason. Many thanks to Hugh Hysell and director Thomas P. Campbell for the invite, and Jeff Soref, Paul Lombardi, as well as Andrew Solomon and John Habich Solomon, for making this event possible. A winning combination of LGBT pride and great works of art.
