Song of the Day: 'Always Something There to Remind Me' by Dionne Warwick

With thanks to Chexy, who posted Dionne Warwick's version of the classic Hal David/Burt Bacharach composition on Facebook. Apparently Dionne recorded a demo of it before it wound up being recorded others -- Lou Johnson, Sandy Shaw -- but it wasn't until Naked Eyes recorded it in the '80s that it became a smash in America.

I just had to look it up, because I remember her version well. It went only to #65 in 1968. Maybe the Naked Eyes version was the bigger hit because they took a fairly treacly song and emphasized the corn-- it was almost like a spoof.
