Many years ago I had some tape she made at the Kerrville, TX music festival. I kinda thought she might be a lesbian. Guess not.
True - as if anyone remembers her. She always seemed flakey. I was supposed to see her in concert back in her prime - 1990 - at the Montreaux jazz festival. A one-night show of Nina Simone, Ofra Haza (now both deceased) and Michelle Shocked....Shocked was a no-show and was replaced with Jill Sobule (an unknown but very memorable...her big success was a few years off). So kinda, fuck-off Michelle.....
