Listen to California Speaker -- and friend of KIT212 -- John Perez as he calls for passage of legislation that would make California the first state to outlaw so-called "sexual conversion therapy" for LGBT youth. Perez, the first openly gay person in the nation to hold the position of Speaker of a legislative body, advocated the passage of SB 1172 -- which passed yesterday 52-21 in the lower house -- on the Assembly floor by saying, "This, in my opinion, is an abusive practice in the guise of therapy."
