Paul Ryan is such a pretty mess. While he looks good on camera, I'm loving that his "fiscal hawk" ways are being exposed for what they truly are: partisan hypocrisy. Under a Republican president the GOP vice presidential nominee voted for deficit-ballooning policies like the Medicare drug benefit ($7 trillion in unfunded liabilities), the Bush tax cuts and TARP -- as well as two dubious and unpaid-for wars. (You don't CUT taxes during wartime!) But now that there's a Democrat in the White House, suddenly he's not willing to spend a dime -- and he wants the gut everything people rely on. Jon Stewart did a great segment on this. I will post the clip if I can dig it up. By the way: The one thing Ryan had going for him is that he supported the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. Guess what? He no longer will say if he does.
