Despite his remarkable songwriting abilities, Marshall Crenshaw never became a superstar. Still, he was responsible for one of the best singles of the early MTV era. After putting out a lot of music in the '80s and '90s, things slowed down considerably for the Detroit native, who grew up not far from me in Berkley. But the 58-year-old who once played John Lennon in "Beatlemania" will be back soon -- he just got funding for a new project via Kickstarter.

Love, love, love this song! And I love this feature, Kenneth. Since we're both children of the 80s some of your songs were completely on my radar, but some have been awesome new additions to my iPod!
