I'm allegedly going to see “End of the Rainbow” this Saturday, the new Broadway show about "the consequences of Judy Garland's fame, set six months before her fatal overdose in 1969." It sounds promising -- "a tabloid portrait of Garland in twilight: Judy drinks! Judy swears! Judy falls! Judy throws an ashtray at her soon-to-be fifth husband, Mickey Deans!" -- although I'm completely confused about one thing. Patrick Healy profiles its star in Sunday's New York Times and apparently they've cast a biological woman to play Liza's legendary mama. Can this be right?
