Sidewalk Talk

Now I'm really confused -- and no, I'm not talking about the Aidan vs. Big question. (Are you kidding? Aidan -- while sexy -- was awful!) Everyone keeps saying "Carrie Bradshaw's old building" just sold, but then they show 64 Perry Street, left, rather than the more famous No. 66. No. 66 was definitely used as the stoop/facade for many years, but am I forgetting that it used to be next door? Or were the interior shots actually filmed in No. 64? Tim Gunn, who lived in an apartment at No. 64, says he first met Sarah Jessica Parker while they were filming in the house, but then another article says it played a "leading role in the first three seasons" of "Sex and the City," so I'm lost (again). To be honest, I always thought everything was done on a sound stage in Long Island City.

No. 64 was used for the first season (maybe one more) but then they used No. 66. The buildings were only used for exterior scenes. And you are correct, all the interiors were shot at Silvercup studios in Queens.
