According to The Daily News, the two men recently recently arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of a Chelsea floral designer "choked him to death during a sex romp in order to pawn his jewelry, prosecutors said at their arraignment Sunday."
The Daily News reports:
The alleged killers, Edwin Faulkner, 30, and Juan Carlos Martinez-Herrera, 26, had pawned some of John Laubach’s gold jewelry two weeks before the March 2 murder, telling a store clerk they swiped it from a man who paid them for sex, court records show.
The duo promised to return with more of the man’s pilfered bling, and when they showed up hawking gold the day of Laubach’s murder, the clerk notified cops."
This sounds pretty definitive -- and must be a relief of sorts to Laubach's loved ones.

I'm confused - maybe I watch too much Law & Order - but isn't it a crime to sell items that have admittedly been stolen? Shouldn't the pawn shop clerk have refused the items, or at least called the police when the two braggarts stated they would return with more? Perhaps this beloved man's life could have been spared if somebody had been proactive instead of apathetic.
