Today Is World AIDS Day

We've come a long way since I lost friends like Mike and Walter and Mark. (So many people today don't even appreciate this.) But the fight against AIDS won't really be over until no one else ever has to die of this heinous disease again. To find out what you can do to help in the fight against HIV/AIDS, click HERE.

And for some reflection as we mark 30 years of HIV/AIDS, here's a nice piece by my pal Hank Plante, who was one of the first television reporters to cover the epidemic. Read HERE.

Tom Andersen sings his original, award-winning AIDS song -- based on a real-life encounter he had during the early days of AIDS in San Francisco (back in the '80s) -- at The Leading Men III, a benefit concert for Broadway Cares, on April 21, 2008, at Birdland in New York City. (He's introduced by John Tartaglia.)

Pity it is just one day.
