Via Modern Tonic: Before there was Randy Blue and Sean Cody there was Falcon Studios, the gay porn empire founded by Chuck Holmes. Sometimes called "the gay Hugh Hefner" who brought porn from the dirty movie theater into our homes with the advent of video tapes, Holmes not only shaped how we viewed ourselves -- with his preppy, smooth, self-assured, blond stars -- but also gave back generously to the community that made him rich, as a major donor to organizations like the HRC, the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, and politicians like Barney Frank and Bill Clinton. Filmmaker Michael Stabile, the man behind "Smut Capital of America," which chronicled San Francisco’s role in the sexual revolution, is now raising funds through KickStarter for a film about the porn-making legend -- and with the working title "Seed Money: The Chuck Holmes Story," this one promises to deliver!
Watch the KickStart trailer and then give generously. Chuck always did. More info HERE.
