Studio 54 to Reopen for One Night Only

Somebody tell Rollerina to start oiling her skates, 'cause I'm hearing that Studio 54, the legendary 1970s nightclub of ill-repute, is slated to reopen at its original location, for the first time in more than 25 years, for one night only on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

SiriusXM, which has had great success with its Studio 54-themed station, is organizing the event, and has handpicked members of the original Studio 54 team -- including entertainment producer Karin Bacon, Steve Rubell's former assistant, Myra Scheer, doorman Marc Benecke, former bartender Scott Taylor, and DJs Nicky Siano and Leroy Washington -- to reunite to create an unprecedented one more stand. "There has been a great response to the launch of Studio 54 Radio and we want to continue that excitement with this special one-time event," said Scott Greenstein, president and chief content officer, SiriusXM. "We are working with many of the members of the original team that Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell so brilliantly assembled to create one more night." While there will sadly be no Andy, Truman or Halston sightings on this special occasion, here's hoping someone gets to do a line with Bianca, Liza or even Jerry before the night is over. Sounds like a hoot!
