What a difference a year makes. After losing last year's U.S. Open final to Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic ended the year playing Davis Cup, leading Serbia to its first ever championship (in a dramatic 3-2 win over France), setting the stage for the greatest season of his career. This year, having defeated Rafael Nadal to capture his first U.S. Open, Nole -- citing back pain -- withdrew from his semifinal match versus Argentina, then stood by helplessly as his fill-in, Viktor Troicki, below, lost to David Nalbandian, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, and Juan Martin del Potro beat Janko Tipsarevic, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4. The doubles will be played on Saturday -- Argentina needs to win just one more match to win the tie and advance to the finals for the first time since 2008.
