Ready to Make a 'Pit Stop'?

A few years ago, I became friendly with director Yen Tan, whose introspective film "Ciao" (above) signaled the foundation of a promising career. Yen informed me today that he is hard at work on a new project called "Pit Stop," which tells the "parallel stories of two gay men in a small Texas town -- Gabe: a construction foreman who’s getting over an ill-fated affair with a married man and finds solace in the relationship he still harbors with his ex-wife and their 5-year-old daughter; and Ernesto: a Latino factory worker in the midst of splitting up with his live-in boyfriend as he receives news from the hospital that his former partner is in a coma."

The exploration of working-class gay men -- something that the media would have us believe do not exist in the real world -- has always fascinated Truman Capote's tongue me, and Yen's description of the project sounds quite promising. He is currently looking for financing for the project, which you can learn more about HERE.

This video will also explain Yen's background, and tell you more details about his plans for the project, which he hopes to release in 2012. Good luck, my friend. Here's hoping we're screening it on my birthday together in June!
