Does a cast off title qualify? REM decided not to use "Dignity and Plumb" for one of their albums (I forget which one) yet the image has remained with me.

tough one ... 3-way tie ...

"Lullabies to Paralyze" Queens of the Stone Age; "The Duchess of Coolsville" Rikki Lee Jones; "So Much for the Afterglow" Everclear

(hard not to list "Tweekend" by Crystal Method ... reminds me of my very brief foray into circuit parties. I am the only who hated the music at those parties?)

and for you just for you, Kenneth (insert evil grin) ... how about "Chelsea Girl" by Nico?

Architecture & Morality is a fab title indeed. Another I always loved precisely because (like A&M) it is so deadpan/pretentious is Ultravox's Rage in Eden.
For whimsy, i adore the Waitresses Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful?

Arctic Monkeys' "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not." It's a borrowed line from Saturday Night and Sunday Morning.
