So I have always been unclear about this. I always assumed she went on vacation to get over a broken heart at home. But the more I think about it, it sounds like she fell in love on vacation, and can't get over the guy now that she's back home. I guess the "two weeks without you and I still haven't gotten over you yet" part made me think she'd gone on a two-week vacation (as if!) and her heartache was still lingering. Did it really take me 30 years to figure this out?

Don't beat yourself up. I assumed it was a song about the joys of getting away from it all. (After all, about the only words in the song that are decipherable are "Vacation, all I ever wanted.")
