San Francisco Gives Birth to Hardcore Pornography

Speaking of KickStarter. Came across the trailer for another project that got funded through the DIY site last night. Michael Stabile's short film about the porn industry takes its title from when San Francisco was lovingly referred to as the "Smut Capital of America," in the late '60s and early '70s, when theaters were turning into porn palaces at a breakneck speed.

I haven't had the chance to see this documentary anywhere in New York yet -- the trailer is actually a little more boring than I would have expected -- but with interviewees making declarations like "the gay male identity was being formed and they were making movies of these people" -- and footage of guys like this, below, I'm still totally up for it!
