Rafael Nadal Named Sportsman of the Year

Rafael Nadal was looking awfully sharp today at the Laureus Awards in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where he took home this year's Sportsman of the Year award. (Lindsey Vonn won for women.) It's always easiest to be sportsmanlike when you're on top. But through a series of injuries over the last couple years, Nadal has proven he is gracious in good times and bad, a trait I'm afraid my guy Fed has struggled with in recent times. Congrats, Rafa!

My my, Rafa looks yummy in a tux!

I think you're splitting hairs here -- both Rafa and Roger are excellent in the sportsmanship department. In fact, I sort of like that Federer is gracious but without exhibiting the false modesty that sometimes annoyingly creeps into Rafa's press conferences (especially when he talks about Federer). Really, though, they are both pretty classy as compared to the field. Maybe, as you say, it's easier when you're clearly the best.

I know Rafa isn't your favorite but thank you so much for acknowledging him.

Vamos Rafa.

And Kenneth, I like your blog. I'm a long time reader.
