Protecting Families ... From Families

This disgusting display took place in a Harps grocery store in Mountain Home, Ark. -- where my best friend lives! (No wonder he wants to move.) Can you just imagine trying to explain to a young child why a man would be holding a baby (everyone knows that's dames' work.) If you'd like to let them know what you think of this, the store's phone number is (870) 425-6556.

UPDATE: You can also let your voice be heard on Harps' Facebook page HERE.

I don't get this whole thing where they don't even want you to know gays (especially happy ones with families, you know, like "normal" people) exist. But it's okay for kids to be taught about the devil and see images of him. So I guess the Devil is more acceptable than gays??

Complaints are also posted to Harps' Facebook wall. Within the last hour, Harps has responded to the FB complaints and says they will pass on the information.

In Harps defense, there's no telling whether the shield is their store policy or a customer just moved the shield from another magazine rack. It will be interesting to hear what the store's response is.

The Tweeter, JennHudd, says the Elton John covers at all the store's registers had shields. Two hours ago, she said the store took all of the shields down.

According to Joy My God, the shield was placed due to customer complaints. Not sure, then, if this is a matter of corporate policy.

This is why we fly over the center of the country....

The corporate response was both swift and wonderful, and it would be appropriate to go to the Harps Stores webpage, and thank them for it at "contact us". I don't fault the store manager, either. He was probably responding to community pressure.
