From Fabulis to Fab

It appears the gay social-networking site Fabulis.com has rebranded itself as Fab.com, and just raised another $1.75 million in capital. Has anyone tried it?

I have and I found it was hard to navigate and way too many questions. I came in during first few months so perhaps the site has made some improvements since then.

And the fact you have to sign up. Dumb.

I've used it from the beginning when it was fabulis.com and it seems to be coming together. The great thing about the site is that they keep tweaking it to make it better. And the folks that use it regularly are really starting to form their own community.

For me, it is a little more like twitter than Facebook so I really don't use it as often as I do Facebook but I think it has a lot of potential. Plus I love that fact that it is all gay men and is not a hookup site - you really get some interesting stuff on there.

The questions and the points are their 'thing' I am mostly ambivalent about them. I understand the point (Fab bits) thing and it is a gimmick - if they can make it work it could be fun.

So, for me, the jury is still out.

And the way you 'sign up' is just link your Facebook account -- easy peasy...
