Lower Manhattan, Higher Ground

I haven't been down to the World Trade Center site in quite some time. (Nine years of being told it was all coming together has taken its toll, causing me to tune out a bit.) Was heartened to see this update, when the first functioning half of Michael Arad's "Reflecting Absence" memorial was tested.

I hate this design, nothing says hope like water goind down a drain.
The 2 towering lights are much more uplifting.
Also the rest of the memorial looks like an underground garage.
What a shame.
