Blinded by Science

Bret Michaels, Heart, Timbaland and Debbie Harry are among the musicians involved in the Rock Stars of Science project, an advertising campaign that pairs rockers with Nobel winners in an attempt to entice children to become more interested in science.

USA Today reports: Rock stars are household names, but ResearchAmerica! polls suggest half the public can't name a living scientist. A 2005 National Academies of Science report complained parents aren't turning their kids on to science anymore.

While I think Deb looks pretty atomic in this photo, I'm not so sure this is gonna help much. Would children even know who most of these rock stars are? (Learn more HERE.)

She looks GHASTLY. The only heartening thing is she looks nothing like that for real. It's like they went way, way overboard on PhotoShop, not remembering that the rule of PS is: First, do no harm.

With those rock stars, are you sure they weren't trying to get Generation X more interested in science?
