  • Bay Bound: My pal Scooter LaForge is returning for a visit to the City by the Bay after being chosen as the exclusive artist to design the Castro Street Fair logo. While in town, he will be setting up shop and selling limited-edition T-shirts from his collection. (SF Examiner)

  • Now That's REALLY Gay: Microsoft has had to apologize to an Xbox Live gamer after banning him for listing "Fort Gay" as his hometown. (The Tech Herald)

  • Doubles Specialist: Former tennis champ Gigi Fernandez -- who won 17 Grand Slam doubles titles and two Olympic gold medals during her 14 years on the tour -- discussed her struggles with infertility after retiring from the game.   • When Hairy Met Samantha: My pal and blogger extraordinaire Matthew Rettenmund won over his high school classmates in Flushing, Michigan, with a campy performance as Samantha Fox during the school's "Mock Rock" talent show back in '87.   • From Daley to Gayly? Alderman Tom Tunney, the first openly gay member of the Chicago City Council, is being discussed as a potential mayoral candidate following Mayor Richard Daley's surprise announcement on Tuesday not to seek re-election in 2011. (Chicago Pride)

  • RIP: Inspector Pine, the deputy police inspector who led the raid on a gay bar in Greenwich Village in 1969 and later apologized for his role in the turmoil, has died at the age of 91. Pine was interviewed at length in the recent documentary "Stonewall Uprising," and was a high point of the film. (NYT)

    Oh, jeez. Thanks, though. I didn't do Madonna because I didn't dare. Plus I don't think she had a song on the charts at the time while "Touch Me" was au courant. Plus it was better for clowning. Thanks for spreading the S-s-s-s-samantha joy.
