Rafael Nadal surprised no one last night by winning his first U.S. Open, to complete a career Grand Slam at just 24 years of age. Novak Djokovic tried to pull every trick he had up his Serbian sleeve, but nothing was going to stop the Spaniard, who is on the fast track to (somehow) manage to become the greatest player of all time -- very much in the way Roger Federer eclipsed a seemingly untouchable Pete Sampras just a few years ago. I never root for Nadal -- he hardly needs it -- but it's hard not to like him, and impossible to hate him. I never thought I would say this, but I think we're living through something truly spectacular.
