Roger Federer probably won't be losing any sleep over this one. Ski champ Bode Miller decided to take a crack at professional tennis this week, competing in a tournament in Hawaii that is part of a series of qualifying events, the winner of which will be awarded a spot in the U.S. Open main draw. But Bode -- a state tennis champion in high school ... in the '90s -- was defeated 6-4, 6-2 by Erik Nelson-Kortland in his opening match at the sectional playoffs in Honolulu. That a 32-year-old non-pro can compete at a professional level at all is pretty impressive, even if Bode's ensemble was anything but.
