A Night at the Oprah

Wow, I didn't see this coming. Oprah Winfrey actually addressed the Kitty Kelley book on Monday (the "so-called biography"), at The New York Women in Communications Matrix Awards, where she presented an award to secret lover pal Gayle King. Somehow I figured she would just pretend it never happened -- you get the sense sometimes that she doesn't even hear about these things(!) -- but I love the way she tackled "the issue" head on ("Gayle got herself worked out with all my new daddies coming out.") While I've had my issues with O in the past, more than anything I respect and admire her. And one more thing: Is it just me or has this season been especially great? Can't tell if I'm just dreading the end so appreciating it more or if she's really stepped it up a notch. I sense it's the latter.
