As per usual, we had the Oscars on with the sound (mostly) off this year at work, and I can't say I felt like I'd missed out on much. (Kudos to Kathryn Bigelow, however, even if you almost ruined everything by mentioning "fire fighters" during the Best Picture acceptance speech -- mwwwuuuaaaaah!) The after-parties, however, definitely look fun. Here are some highlights from the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar party at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, just a stone's throw from my early '90s stomping ground.
