Apparently Not Down Low Enough

After years of only finding out professional athletes were gay after they retired or had contracted AIDS, the "macho" world of professional sports -- players and fans alike -- could be forced to face that "one of their own" is a gay with news that Atlanta Falcons fullback Ovie Mughelli has just been outed by an ex-lover. Although the details are ugly -- terms like "hus money" and "jilted ex" pop up all over the post -- and assuming it's true, something still tells me this could be a very (non-HIV) positive step for the LGBT population as fellow players realize it's not just ex-girlfriends who can go nuts on your ass when you sign a $20 million contract. QUEER JOCKS, THEY'RE JUST LIKE US!

As a gay male, I find the situation sad. Any time people are hurt and they go public with such hurt things seldom turn out well for any of the parties involved.
