In Tucson, striking an album-cover pose with my niece and nephew; below, shopping on Fourth Avenue with my mom and sister
I must confess, things got pretty ugly for a moment around my apartment on Christmas morning. You see, my ever-vain lover was at it again, and decided to surreptitiously delete a photo he didn't like off my camera -- only he accidentally deleted everything, including photos I hadn't downloaded yet of our Thanksgiving trip to Arizona to visit my family. (I have literally begged him for years to leave my camera alone, and that I actually "caught" him in the act, but he denied what he was doing only fueled my outrage.) Truth is, I was already feeling a blue being so far from home on my favorite holiday that having yet another memory "erased" in a flash just was a little more than I could bear at that moment. (I'm 42, but without my parents to tell me when it's "OK" to open presents, it still doesn't feel right.) Fortunately, a quick tweet about my dilemma led me to some free software that allowed me recover most of the images the following day (SMILE!!!), a few of which I joyously share with you now. (Oh, and Michael got to live.) The $64,000 question is, of course, has Michael learned his lesson? Well, moments after recovering the photos he immediately came around asking if we could "please delete" the one that prompted the whole nightmare. So I think we have our answer ...

I wanna be part of your family.
Everyone looks so nice :)
And when does Kenneth learn to backup his photos? Makes one wonder if he backs up his computer.
Jake: I hadn't NOT backed up my photos. I hadn't even downloaded them yet.
my problem is my hard drive crashed and I didn't back up any of my photos on the hard drive.
Not that I care, but some of those photos were ones I would have liked to have kept.
Don't just hate it when someone goes around messing with your stuff?
You should have posted the one he wanted you to delete....that might have done the trick. Unless you did....
