“I don’t see this as 60 Democrats versus 40 Republicans. I see it as 60 leaders who stood up to insurance companies and stood up for working families all across America.” -- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, on the role partisanship played in the Senate's historic health care vote.

Insurance companies are parasites…Why is this legislation not enough and all wrong?
Let’s get one thing clear here, this Health Care legislation is just the creation of some needed regulation, not, and let me emphasize this, it is NOT HEALTH CARE REFORM.
The way I see it, as most of us progressive liberals see it is just a giveaway, more revenue, extra profits and a lot of new policies for the insurance companies. WHAT A SWEET FUCKING DEAL for them. And we, the tax payer will have to pay for it. Imagine that? Giving away our money to the Insurance Companies while they have been screwing us all these years. Let’s not even talk about the Pharmaceuticals, they cut a sweet deal early on and you don’t hear them squeek.
The bill is historic. It's not perfect and yes, it was mired in appalling concessions to various interests. But it's true progress, and it WILL be improved over time so long as people don't allow it to be repealed by Republicans in the future.
However, Reid is really so dumb. Why DE-politicize this? He should damn well be saying, "I DO see this as partisaan. The Republicans hate helping people in any form and Democrats have always been on the right side of legislation regarding helping people, from civil rights to health care." Jeez, Harry, you're a Democratic leader not a generic leader.
You'd think someone so excited about this "reform" would know how to spell Harry Reid's name!
Oops: it's my reform school education showing :-)
