"What I learned from doing the film is that even though I am black, I’m prejudiced. I’m prejudiced against people who are darker than me. When I was young, I went to a church where the lighter-skinned you were, the closer you sat to the altar. Anybody that’s heavy like Precious -- I thought they were dirty and not very smart. Making this movie changed my heart. I’ll never look at a fat girl walking down the street the same way again.”

I'd never see this in a million years, but for the fact that someone I trust has seen it and insists that Monique deserves an Oscar nomination for this film.
I think I need to see it to believe it, but if it's half as good as the rave I heard from a trusted source...it's gonna be big.
Industry word is that Mo'Nique is going to get an Oscar nomination from this movie. I've heard she's unbelievable.
The movie is devastating. Mariah is great, and Mo'nique is absolutely amazing. Fearless!
I've heard Mo'Nique is Oscar-worthy, but her diva attitude about not appearing at screenings without payment is going to hurt her a lot. I've heard nothing but raves about the movie, so I'll go despite Mariah being in it. (Fug...she looks like Jasmine Guy in black-and-white, not in a good way.)
