But when I read that "Downtown Calling," director Shan Nicholson's new documentary examining the explosive artistic period that came out of the fiscally and morally bankrupt period of late '70s New York City, I was ready to put on a Stetson and head to Austin. Klaus Nomi at the Mudd Club? A chat with Maripol? Narration by Debbie Harry? Who do you gotta blow to bring this film home, guys? (Watch the trailer and you'll see what I mean.)
