Send in the Clowns

There's a nice interview with Monica Seles in the new issue of TENNIS. In it, she discusses everything from her induction into the Hall of Fame and stabbing to her food issues and appearance on "Dancing With the Stars," about which she had this to say:

"It was something new and extremely hard to learn. It's a huge commitment. We were in hair and makeup for five and a half hours before the show on both days. By the time they put the this foundation, that foundation, the false eyelashes, the sparkles, the hairpiece -- I mean, it takes time to look like that. Actually the first night I went back and took off my makeup off because I was like, I can't go out looking like this; I look like a Las Vegas showgirl. I used another world, but I won't repeat it in this magazine (laughs). In the end, when you see your self on TV compared to when you look in the mirror, it's like night and day difference. TV eats all that makeup."

I'm assuming she thinks magazine covers do, too.
