UPDATE: I am alive. The good news is he's pretty sure there actually wasn't an extra canal. The bad news was the one that was there (which was really just one HUGE canal that may have had some tissue making it look divided) still hurt like a motherfucker. After nearly killing me a couple of times, he was finally able to shoot the Novocaine directly into the canal -- an UNBELIEVABLY PAINFUL experience that required extreme force -- and then things went pretty smoothly. He gave me antibiotics "just to be careful" and I'm going back in a couple weeks for him to fill it up and begin the crown process. Thanks for all the words of support. Here's hoping this is my last post about this!
