All-Access Pass: Frank came across a hot shot of Brazilian actor Paulinho Vilhena accidentally putting on a wiener show in the parking lot while in just a towel after a day at the beach. Cick the link for the "adult" goods. (OMG Blog!)
The Empire Strikes Back? Gov. David A. Paterson said in an interview Sunday night that he would make sure that the state Senate votes on same sex-marriage legislation before it breaks for the summer, hours after he and his administration had refused to commit to forcing a vote on the issue. (NYT)
Take Me to Your Leader: Gay scribe Jeremy Peters takes a crack at figuring out why, even 40 years into it, the gay rights movement still has no recognizable leader: "Gay people have no national standard-bearer, no go-to sound-byte machine for the media. So when President Obama last week extended benefits to same-sex partners of federal employees, there was no alpha gay leader to respond with the movement’s official voice, though some activists criticized the president for not going far enough. ... One explanation is that gay and lesbian activists learned early on that they could get along just fine without one." Personally, I'd say our ever-changing needs (not being labeled "insane," not being killed, not being fired from jobs, AIDS, legal issues, domestic partnerships) would be the main reason, although the death of a generation certainly weighed heavily on the outcome. (NYT)
Murder, He Wrote: The Washington Post’s decision to keep a two-part story on the murder of a straight man in the polyamorous Dupont Circle home of three men out of the print edition angered many readers who still pay for the newspaper. (NYT) (For those of you who can't get enough about the case, be sure to check out whomurdredrobertwone.com HERE.)
Halsted Center: Here's a sweet story about a senior center for gays in Chicago. "I feel like I belong," said Marsha Markko, 59. "It's a place I can come to and feel relaxed, be around people who face issues that I face and can talk about them. I feel comfortable. And I think any senior deserves that." (Chicago Tribune)
(Completely) Over the Rainbow? The gay civil rights movement seems to finally be getting somewhere. But does that mean it's time for new flag? (The Awl)
Making the Count: Married same-sex couples will be counted as such in 2010, Census Bureau officials said, reversing a decision of the Bush administration. (AP)
Nathaniel's Choice: Mr. Rogers offers 60 appropriate ways to celebrate Meryl Streep's 60th birthday. (Film Experience Blog) (FYI: my fave Meryl performances: "Manhattan," "Silkwood," "Postcards From the Edge" and "The Bridges of Madison County.")
I HEART Danielle: I don't think it's even aired yet, but word is already out about the latest drama from "The Real Housewives of New Jersey." Naturally, it's Danielle Staub who spoke up for the underdog -- in this case gay people, whom you may recall from the dance-lesson episode the husband of mentally challenged housewife Teresa thinks nothing of disparaging. (Advocate) (And can you blame her for making the move on that bitch's hot son?)
Cruel and Unusual: A Father's Day wish comes true for one gay dad. (AP)
Not Necessarily the News: I'd completely forgotten about former CNN anchorwoman Bobbie Battista. (NYT)
Three Cheers for 'Queers': Congrats to my friend Frank Anthony Polito, whose "Drama Queers" got a rave 4 out of 5 stars in the new issue of INSTINCT. Read what he had to say about his new novel and about guest-blogging for yours truly in the Windy City Times HERE.

it makes me completely gag that you would fall under the evil spell of danielle. she is a charlatan, a SOCIOPATH and an emotional blackmailer! WHY would you change your name and then go on a REALITY show where everyone knows where to find you. did you see how she wouldn't disengage after it was CERTAIN that dina didn't reveal the book to Franklin Lakes? and to use her children as confessors, to allow her children to sit through the Last Supper is child abuse. ARGH !!! KENNETH !!! p.s., LOVE you ! keep up the great work ;-)
