Blue Man Gloop

This post was written by guest blogger Marc Lallanilla, who writes his own fab blog over HERE

A hot naked blue guy -- that's reason enough to see a movie, right? Watchmen, the somewhat-anticipated new release based on the graphic novel, opens nationwide today. The film is directed by the same guy who perfected the art of airbrushed abs in 300, destined to become a closeted-homoerotica classic. I think the New York Times sums it up best: "Watchmen is rated R (Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian). It has extreme violence, a naked blue man and some superhero sex." All that and a bag of popcorn. No butter, please -- we're watching our abs.

Wait, you're killing me. Those abs in The 300 weren't real?! At least some (most?) of them were, right?

You know what is interesting? How they went about designing that penis. You just know they workshopped the look, and had committee meetings on the length and size. Can't be too small (he is a superhero after all), can't be too enormous to be distracting/frightening. The result is the embodiment of what hetero males think is the perfect penis.

PS if digital bodies can be created as easily as that (Billy Crudup is slight compared to his character), you just know they are going to put porn actors out of business in the next couple of years.

WATCHMEN was about ten times better than DARK NIGHT. There I've said it.

They were a tad generous when handing out digital dicks for this movie. I did the best I could to avert my eyes whenever it was onscreen so as not to get too distracted from the story. Thankfully, I never heard so much as a 'gasp' whenever it was on screen, despite having seen several children entering the theater with their parents before the film started. I messaged my sister immediately after it was over to tell her that under no circumstance were my nephews to see this movie.
