The American was leading 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-2, 2-1 when the third-seeded Serb called it quits, maintaining Roddick’s streak of semifinal appearances at Melbourne Park every alternate year since 2003.

Okay, I can't begin to imagine playing in that heat, but Novak needed to just cowboy up, stick around ten more minutes, and take this loss like a pro. Does any top male player retire more often than he does? And he's defending his title!
On a slightly different note, let me add that I enjoy how much Roddick adjusts his package.

Sometimes I think guys (not limited to tennis) just pull up their shirt and wipe their forehead sweat just so we can see their abs. And hey, that's fine with me!
