I don't have a lot of faith in any of the New York Post's film critics, but this list of highlights one of them compiled from the Sundance Film Festival has me really excited for the year ahead in movies. Kristen Wiig working in an amusement park, Jim Carey and Ewan McGregor hooking up in the pokey and Ashton Kutcher as a gigolo? I'm in! Now if only they'd included "Humpday," Lynn Shelton's comedy about two straight men making a gay sex movie. Even Robert Redford's racing over to catch this one!
Check out the list:
"Adventureland" -- Greg Mottola's follow-up to "Superbad," set in a Long Island amusement park in 1987. (With Ryan Reynolds and Kristen Wiig!!!)
"Big Fan" -- Patton Oswalt as the ultimate New York Giants fan, who gets beaten up by his favorite player.
"The September Issue" -- Documentary focuses on embattled Vogue editor Anna Wintour and her staff laboring for nine months on the massive September 2007 issue.
"Brooklyn's Finest" -- Cops Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke and Don Cheadle star under the direction of Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day").
"I Love You Phillip Morris" -- Jim Carrey in the true story of a married con artist who falls in love with his prison cellmate (Ewan McGregor).
"In the Loop" -- Scathing British satire of international politics with an ensemble cast including James Gandolfini.
"The Informers" -- Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, Winona Ryder and Mickey Rourke star in an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' '80s-set novel.
"Rudo y Cursi" -- "Y Tu Mama Tambien" stars Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal reunite as rival soccer stars in Mexico.
"Spread" -- Ashton Kutcher as a Los Angeles gigolo.
"Shrink" -- Kevin Spacey as a troubled celebrity psychiatrist in L.A.
"Brief Interviews With Hideous Men" -- John Krasinski ("The Office") makes his directorial debut with the first adaptation of a novel by the late David Foster Wallace.

"Sin Nombre" was an amazing movie; too bad it was not on your list. I saw the premier yesterday (Sunday) and really hope it gets played in the big theaters. First time actors/director did nothing short of a truly moving piece of film and worthy of recognition.

People should be boycotting Sundance and any other event in Utah.
