I'm a Democrat, but I don't blame Rep. Ros-Lehtinen for this. I understand that Miami radio stations have been punking people routinely over the last few months, and generally calls between Presidents and Members of Congress are set up formally in advance. Her reaction wasn't off base, really.

Also, she campaigned against Florida's equivalent of Proposition 8 this year -- risky for a Republican. So I'm inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Why is this item listed under the "Red State" heading?"
In Florida, we are pleased and relieved to finally be a BLUE STATE again!
After all, we are just a suburb of New York.

I'm not generally one for defending GOPers, but Ros-Lehtinen is one of the few Republicans with a good record on gay rights. And it is likely she didn't believe it was really Obama - would you?

Anyway, I imagine Obama just thought the whole thing was funny. Barry's cool like that.
