On the Rag, Vol. 15

A weekly look at what's making news in New York's free gay rags:

Next magazine's cover story about holiday shopping raises serious doubts about the old saying it's better to give than it is to receive ...

HX checks in with (inexplicable) gay icon Britney Spears, who has never interested me in the slightest. (Weren't most of us too old for this crap back in '98 -- let alone now?)

Hello,

I read your blog often and I really like it, but I had a question about this comment. When you said "most of us" are you referring to most of the people who read your blog? Most of the people who are your age? Most of the people live in the (212) area code?

I wonder because I feel Britney is this generation's (generation is being used in a less than literal way) Madonna.

While to you and me Britney may not be a Madonna, to others Madonna is no Beatles. Music is expansive and subjective. Some music touches the heart or speaks to the mind. Some music is fun and great to really let loose. That I think is a great thing, and while I may be older "to old for this crap" I enjoy it for what it is.

P.S. I really like your blog, not trying to pick a fight, and I am sure you will hate my grammar, but that has never been my strong point.
