Rubbed the Wrong Way?

The blogs were abuzz over the weekend that Kathy Griffin's longtime assistant Jessica Zajicek had walked out on the flame-haired funnywoman, with sources claiming Jess "couldn't take anymore." By Sunday, however, Kathy's publicity-loving camp had issued a statement denying the split, but given Kath's track record with not being willing to share the spotlight with anyone in Team Griffin (anyone remember her "Main Gays," Dennis Hensley and Tony Tripoli?), one can't help but wonder if Jessica's newfound "fame" isn't rubbing Kath the wrong way. (Time will tell.) Speaking of rubbing Kathy the wrong way, that reminds me of a great ole Grifftale from her early days in Hollywood. As she openly discusses, Kathy used to be a teacher at the famed Groundlings in Los Angeles -- that is until she got fired for fucking one too many of her students. My favorite was the actor who tells the story of the time he and Kath were lying around in bed one lazy weekend afternoon eating cheese and crackers off a cheese board. The guy says he tickled Kathy's feet and she giggled and then playfully said stop, so he did it again. After the third time or so Kathy allegedly went into a psychotic rage and grabbed the knife they were using to cut stuff up and lunged toward him, missing his major arteries but planting the blade deep into the wall. Completely stunned, said actor looked at her in disbelief only to have Kathy stare coldly at him and say, "Well, that's what you get." Note to Team Griffin: don't piss her off -- that's what you get!
