Sunday Aural: Miss Derringer

"Black Tears" (through eyeliner for you)

This group called Miss Derringer is opening for Blondie tonight at the Nokia. I'd never heard of them until doing some last-minute research this weekend and was tickled to find out they're actually really fun. Seems Blondie drummer Clem Burke played on their second album (when they became more of a duo than a band). "Black Tears" is a song from an EP that came out last year. They remind me of what Voice of the Beehive would sound like if they performed the soundtrack for an old movie Western (in other words, "Go Through It" by Blondie themselves!). Look forward to seeing them later tonight. Check 'em out and let me know what you think.

Visit the band's MySpace here.
