RIP: Junior

It's a very sad day in the (212) as our friend John lost his best buddy and companion of nearly 20 years this afternoon, Junior. God knows I've had special relationships with my cats over the years, but I've never seen a pet more in love with his owner than little Juni was with John. The little guy loved his Uncle Mikey very much and grew to love his new Uncle Kenny, but no matter what was going on in the room with John, Junior's full attention was focused on him and him alone. The way he looked at John you could just see how in love he was. I've never seen anything so cute in all my life. We'll miss our handsome little critter, but I know it's John who is hurting beyond words right now. While it makes me very sad for him, it also reminds me about what makes John so special and how lucky Junior was to have him for a daddy. He couldn't have asked for a better life.

This broke my heart. My sweet old cat Bud is 25 years old and I fall in love with him all over again every single day, dreading the time when we will inevitably have to say farewell. My sincere condolences. :-(

Having just lost my 12 year old Golden Retreiver, Murphy, I got a little bit teary eyed when I read about John and Juni. Murph and I had the same kind of bond as John and Juni. I will never forget that last afternoon when we had to put Murph to sleep. It was a good day, tail waggin and with his nose in my crotch while I played with his ears. He absolutely loved to have me do this. He would stay there until I decided we were done. Old age and a thyroid tumor caught up to Murph and the time was right to set him free from a life slowly wasting away. So now I can check out The Murph on my cell phone display anytime and just remember the best dog anyone could ever have. I'm sure John feels the same way about Juni.

I'm so sorry for your friend's loss.

Junior looks like a twin of my boyfriend's cat, Gordon. She was supposed to be a gift to my boyfriend's former roommates, but she chose Scott. Similar to Junior's relationship with John, Gordon tracks Scott's every movement. And while she has learned to like me as well, she impatiently watches the front door for Scott's arrival every night.
