Page 1 Consider (09/12)

  • The Daily Surprise: The Academy is asking Jon Stewart for a return engagement at next year's Oscars. Was it something Ellen said (for nine hours)? (NYT)

  • The Naked Truth: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Peach Buzz column finds it ironic that "The Insider" is so indignant about the Thomas Roberts nude photo brouhaha considering they'd be all over the story if it didn't involve one of their employees. (Can you say Vanessa Hudgens?) Meanwhile, GLAAD fires back at Page Six for the "toe tapper" crack.

  • Addicted: Did you really think Rosie O'Donnell would bite her tongue in her new book, "Celebrity Detox"? (AH)

  • Honor Roll: Four of my absolute all-time favorite artists -- Steve Martin ("The Jerk," "All of Me"); Diana Ross ("The Boss," "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"); Brian Wilson ("Pet Sounds") and Martin Scorsese ("Taxi Driver," "After Hours") -- will share the 30th annual honors of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in December. Anyone got an extra ticket? :-) (AP)

  • Spinal Melt: Just what women's tennis doesn't need -- the return of Lindsay "No Killer Instinct" Davenport. (AP)

  • Restaurant Gamble: Nick Lachey and Wilmer Valderrama to open an eatery together in the Luxor casino in Vegas. (People)

  • Where's Dawn Davenport? The Maryland Lottery on Tuesday validated a winning Mega Millions ticket purchased by an accountant who teaches the Wiccan religion. Elwood "Bunky" Bartlett said he will take a lump sum cash payment. (AP)

  • The Big Easy: A former New Orleans prostitute (is there such a thing as a former prostitute?) who will be featured in Larry Flynt's Hustler magazine appeared at his office Tuesday to accuse Sen. David Vitter of having a sexual relationship with her in 1999. Wendy Ellis told reporters that Vitter visited her two to three times a week for sexual relations between July and November 1999. The GOP kicked Larry Craig to the sidewalk and gave Vitter a round of applause. That's (AP)

  • Everybody Connie Chung Tonight: So, Katie Couric tries to be a real journalist by reporting in Iraq and her ratings just fall lower? (AP)

  • Say It Isn't So: The Mets are parting ways with the Hebrew Hammer? (NYT)

  • RIP:Anita Roddick, the crusading entrepreneur who used the Body Shop chain of cosmetics stores she founded to promote causes like ending animal testing and supporting the environment, died in Chichester, England, on Monday. She was 64. The cause was a brain hemorrhage, her family said. (NYT)
